One of the main characteristics regarding the behavior of the Modesto opossum is that it is quite unpredictable, somewhat nervous and active. Noises:
When you hear any animal noises of scratches and traces, there must be a California opossum under your shed.

Droppings:
Opossums are always in search of foods and they leave droppings wherever they travel. If you will find a large number of droppings in your shed or porch, it is the sign that an opossum already entered.

Odor:
Opossums are untidy and they smell very bad. They always leave droppings that cause odor. In addition, if a baby or adult Modesto opossum die, they leave a huge odor in your entire shed or porch.

Damage to insulation or ducts:
Opossums tend to chew whatever they find. Especially they chew through insulation, wires, and ducts. If you will find any small pieces of ducts or insulation, you may know any California opossum under your porch or shed.
